Afternoon all,

Quandary, we are looking at application virtualization technologies and want one that ideally uses the resources, memory, IP, CPU of the server and not the client. We have already ruled out ThinApp, as that runs solely on the client, but I am not so sure on App-V. Is it the same as ThinApp and uses the local resources or does it actaully stream from its server? I know you can do this with Citrix and publish an actual app, but VMWare doesnt seem to have a similar technology.

We have multiple sites, and some of our business app send full fat SQL between clients, and the VPN doesn't like this, and they run like a dog at a different site to the SQL server. We want to run the locally and access them remotely!

Thanks

MS RemoteApp could do this for you.

Depending upon your View licensing you might be able to publish it through there, but if you're on standard you can't so you'd need to do it the windows way.
