Windows 10 Defender Bitlocker issue

Hi,

 

We're having a little issue on site since enforcing BitLocker on staff external drives. The first time a user plugs their memory stick in the PC they are prompted for their password as usual. The second time and subsequent further attempts, the PC just freezes and locks up.

 

We have managed to narrow the issue down to windows defender. If we remove windows defender the issue corrects itself. Our windows defender policy is managed by SCCM and we are running windows 10 version 1803.

 

What windows defender policies are others using and has anyone else had any similar issues?

Sorry for the delayed reply,

 

We currently are still experiencing this issue with no workaround other than if the user plugs their memory pen in before boot it works. Which version of Windows 10 are you currently running?

Hi Phil, interesting, we'll try the same. We noticed the problem appears to have happened around mid-December when the Windows Defender Antimalware client was upgraded from 4.14 to 4.18.1812.3. Did you?

 

We are currently running W10 v1803. Does that make any difference?
