Sooz Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Hi, I am trying to install MS FrontPage 2003 on my Windows XP Home Edition Ver 2002 Server pack 2. However, each time I try, I get the message "installation source has been corrupted". Does anyone know what this means? Any solutions? I've tried the Microsft Help pages but to no avail. many thanks.
dhicks Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 However, each time I try, I get the message "installation source has been corrupted". Are you installing from CD? The CD could be defective, or the CD drive (or the connection between the drive and the rest of the PC) could be broken in some way. -- David Hicks
Sooz Posted April 28, 2008 Author Posted April 28, 2008 I'm installing from the cd. I think all the hardware is okay - although I'll try and test it with something else. If there isn't a problem there, can you/anyone else think of anything else?! Much appreciated.
Sooz Posted April 30, 2008 Author Posted April 30, 2008 Good suggestion, thanks. BUT I did this, and with only 2 minutes remaining of the downloading, got the message: "cannot copy SJU017: Data error (Cyclic redundancy check)" Does anyone know what this means?
SYNACK Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Cyclic redundancy check (CRC) means that the data that it read off the CD does not match the checksum that is there to ensure that the data is not corrupted. It looks like your cd is cooked. 1
