Technical Services Consultant (2nd/3rd line) – Surrey – Permanent

Up to £35,000 + benefits * URGENT *

 

Our client, a successful and well established ICT Support company in Surrey, are looking for a Technical Services Consultant to join their existing support team. Working closely with the Technical Services Specialist and Technical Services Manager, you will act as a point of escalation, develop and maintain technologies and services, as well as hold responsibility for on-site consultancy and project work.

 

As the postholder, you will continually review technical service provisions, ensure processes exist for the setup and management of all systems, ensure all systems are proactively monitored, carry out a continual process of research and development, document knowledge to be shared across teams and participate in day to day support of technical services.

 

The ideal candidate will have worked in a relevant, senior position, preferably within the Education Sector, as well as possessing a clean, valid driving license.

 

Requirements;

 

Administering/designing Windows server infrastructures including Group Policy design and planning

Server and workstation builds

Application packaging or automated installations

Enterprise/cloud anti-virus systems and backup systems

Documenting technical procedures, infrastructures and system configurations.

Technical Skills;

 

Windows 10, Server 2012 R2 or above

Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, server virtualisation

Imaging, OS and Software deployment systems (WDS, MDT, SCCM)

Microsoft Exchange (2010 onwards) and Office 365

Proactive and reactive system monitoring (SNMP or similar)

Desirable;

 

Multi-site AD environments, Virtual environments (iSCI, NFS or FC SANs)

Cisco, HP Procurve or similar

Autotask/Autotask Endpoint Management (CentraStage)

Google Apps/Office 365 setup and migration

MDM technologies

Possess an MCSE/MCTS/CCNA qualification or equivalent
