rush_tech Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 (edited) I have been trying to install joomla 1.5 on our webspace with synetrix, uploaded the package ok run through the install and get right to the end and it gives an error: - httpdocs\configuration.php) function.file-put-contents: failed to open stream: Permission denied in \httpdocs\installation\installer\models\model.php on line 856 now a permission problem I hear you scream but I have changed the permission on the installation folder itself still no joy:confused: Normally you get the script for the configuration.php, create that delete installation directory and your away in theory at least. Am I missing something here? do the permission need changing else where? Help would be appreciated Edited April 25, 2008 by rush_tech
contink Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Big question is where the fputs function is trying to put the file.. The folder in question probably isn't writeable by the process thus the permissions error.
alonebfg Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 when you ftp the folder you need to check permissions on all the folders are correct do not set 777 and to all files but and start of install it tell you what files need what permissions they need to be set before install. I think this is what is causing the problem. It could also be a database issue I know some hosts don't let certain thing happen and they have to do the install

Progress Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Hi there - have you any advice for setting up Joomla with the Synetrix setup? Everyone (official) are decidedly uphelpful. I'm in Derbyshire, so hopefully things will be similar. I've uploaded the Joomla folder into httpdocs, but can't find the install info via the browser. If this all works ok, I will "roll" it out to a number of Primary schools I support. Any help would be extremely welcome... Progress Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Hi, I've got the Plesk panel - I'm probably being awkward as I'm trying to install it as an addtion to the present html site (e.g. http://www.mysite.com/Joomla). I'll check with the Plesk though. I take it you have plesk access? do you get the first page of the installation screen when you click site preview from the plesk panal
