NetSupport School (Tutor) Silent Install Works With Windows 8.1 but not Windows 10

To save having to install the software manually on the Teachers laptops as and when they request NetSupport School (Tutor) to be installed, I've added it to SCCM using /qn and /norestart and when I tested on my test Staff PC it worked fine.

 

I then noticed my test PC was a bit old as it was still a Windows 8 VM! I've now tried it on a Windows 10 PC and it doesnt work - it just hangs in SCCM saying installing... I've tried it on a 'proper' staff laptop I just pulled out of the cupboard and it's the same. If I manually run the install it works OK.

 

The only thing we've noticed is that although it's an MSI file, a few command prompt windows pop up and do things so we're wondering if that's being blocked by Windows 10 Defender or something - but if this was the case why does it install OK manually for the same user?

 

Have any of you successfully pushed out NetSupport School (Tutor) via SCCM?

Update from one of our Teachers has just come in saying that they left it for an hour and then it suddenly installed! I left it running on a PC overnight and it was still sitting there this morning so I'm a little bit confused!

Thought I would just post a quick reply to this thread in case anyone else is having similar issues.

 

The issue with the installation above was caused by an incorrect install parameter being used for the installation. Once this was modified with the correct parameters, the installations then started going through as expected.
