Windows 10 UEV

Hi

 

Been testing our UEV on Windows 10 (1803) Enterprise and education addition. It does not write back the user settings to a server share. It works on Windows 7 and 8.1 running the UEV client and writes back the settings to the share.

 

Any Ideas?

It's a little different in 10, I found the easiest way was to keep the local settings in the user's home directory; that way all the permissions are present and correct and things just worked.

WHile UEV appears to be working (I've not had any complaints, any way!) However, I've just noticed that the majority of settings are stored in the local appdata - only Cortana and Outlook are written back to the server location. Obviously, as we are using local profiles only, the local app data doesn't roam, so how are the settings?

Have you created or downloaded any UE-V templates for your third-party apps? For every application you want the settings to roam for you need a template.

 

For example, for Chrome's profile.rb you need this...

Could it be due to the permissions on the settings share? Like @synaesthesia, I have our UE-V "Settings storage path" set to %HOMESHARE%.

 

For comparison, my Sticky Notes template looks like this:

Note. I am using the 'classic' version on Windows 10 rather than the UWP version.

Permissions are right - other things roam, and settings are written back to the store. Your template is different to mine, so I'll give that a go.
