discoveranother Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Hi all, Have a client who setup several chromebooks themselves. They aren't something I have ever used, the person who sent them up has left the company, the chromebooks need the proxy settings removing, but looks like the person who set them up has used their account, what would be the best way to resolve this, is it reset the chrombooks or is there another way ? Thanks guys,
fiza Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 If they are managed Chromebooks then you can reset proxy details through the G Suite Admin Console. If not then you should be able to go into the wireless settings of each one and reset from there.

Does the G Suite Admin Console require the password of the user who set them up ? That user is no longer around and may still use their account somewhere else. Thanks Edited September 30, 2018 by discoveranother
fiza Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 If they were enrolled on the admin console then you would need the username and password of the g suite administrator. The other way would be to power wash them, basically reset them to factory default. If they have been enrolled on to a g suite domain and done properly even after a power wash they would just re-enroll to the domain.

I had to follow some instructions to powerwash them, stating that the chromebook goes into developer mode, however,, it could not because they were setup by the original owner so it booted into verified mode instead where it looks like it is going through a setup etc The chromebooks are setup by the original administrator to the schools domain, how do I create a new administrator account for this domain where it will pick up all the original settings ? Its now asking for a Enterprise Enrollment account managed by the current domain, how do I create a new one for this domain, is it possible ? Thanks Edited October 6, 2018 by discoveranother
fiza Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 You will need to contact Google Support if you are the new admin but have no admin credentials.
