Lane Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 I am beginning the discovery process for updating a tvclassroom, used for both live academic classes over H.323, and live hybrid academic classes over Cisco WebEx. Upgrading the video switcher and ptz cameras are planned. 4K capability used to be something years away, but is plentiful now in the market. For video over IP H.323 my codecs can handle most any resolution, but what about computer based software codecs such a WebEx, SKYPE or Zoom? Is it really practical to produce and switch a 4K video signal that gets transcoded over to USB and into a computer? Is that worth pursuing, or should I stick with HD-SDI ? Thoughts and opinions are welcomed.
SamanthaD Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 If you're looking at 4k AVoIP I've been impressed with the Crestron NVX-351 system. Doesn't answer your question regarding a software solution but 4k 4:4:4 with a 1Gb bandwidth solution deserves to be looked at.
