Can someone who uses Bitlocker for removable storage try something for me?

When a Bitlocker encrypted USB stick is put into the PC and you go to my computer, there is the option to double click the icon on the main screen to open the password dialogue box to input the password or you can click on the left hand side bar where all your drives are listed. If you click the encrypted drive there do you get "Access Denied"?

 

Hope that makes sense. We always get "Access denied" if we click the drive in the side bar. Why is that?
