We've just had a demo of these with a view to replacing some of our IWBs. They look fab.

 

Has anyone got them in their school? How do staff find them? How do techies find them in terms of support?

Around £2,800 for the 70", £1,900 for the 55" and more near £4,000 for the 90". Seems a lot I know, but no more IWBs, no lost pens, no more projectors, no more lamps and probably easier maintenance. A quick wipe with a damp cloth and your done. They have a built in soundbar so you can dump those amps and speakers. Cheaper running costs too. The feature I especially liked is they go to sleep when the teacher forgets to switch it off.

There are plenty of UHD Interactive screens on the market that you could have quite comfortably at these prices, and most with built in speakers/soundbar. £2,800 for a 70" panel is premium territory and you would be getting a similar sized Promethean ActivPanel at that sort of price. You would get a 75" Smart MX Series screen with change at that pricepoint, so it doesn't sound like they are all that keenly priced. Most panels will go to sleep if they are idle for a length of time, so that's not a unique feature to the Tango touch.

 

If you liked the Tango Touch, it would definitely be worthwhile asking a couple of resellers to arrange demos for you on a range of alternatives, such as BenQ, Genee, Sharp, Clevertouch, M-Touch and even Smart & Promethean too. Get the teachers involved in the demos too, so that they can offer constructive criticism of the screens. Ultimately, it will be them who will be using them on a daily basis, so it's important to get something in that they are comfortable using from day one.
