End User Change Password Manager

Can anyone recommend any third party software that would add-on to AD and

 

a) Alert the user in countdown steps when their password is to expire

b) Guide the user as to why their password isn't strong enough if they enter a weak one

 

I've found a few hardcore big business ones but wondered if anyone had used something more suitable both in costs and hand holding for teachers

We used to use Specops at my old place which allows a much more customised menu, password resets from login screen, and also feedback in regards to why it's not accepted. Not looked at it recently but might be worth a look:
