googlemad Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 In DNS I am trying to delete some records pointing to a non existent DC as they are causing a warning on a system we use It was successfully demoted as a domain controller and obvious objects etc. removed, but DNS entries remain. Just manually delete them, simple right? Wrong! As soon as I delete the _ldap and _kerberos SRV records (The two 'DC03' ones as soon as I click refresh they're come straight back! If I try modifying one of them I can manually delete my modified one but then it creates a fresh DC03 one straight away anyway! Initially DC03 was in the list of Name Servers for some of the zones however I removed it from them all and still the same issue! Any ideas?

Duke5A Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 It's been a while, but the last time I lopped the head off of a DC I had to go into ADSI Edit and remove leftovers.
