[SIMS] Headcount report

Is there a way to set up a simple headcount report for each class based on the number of pupils actually present in school in the current session?

I'm thinking something that would look as simple as:

Assuming you don't want to use any of the pre-existing ones you can create your own through the 'Reports | Design Report', then select 'Create a New Report', and for the data area select 'School | Class', select the Class name, and Students Sub Report (don't put anything under the subreport, that way it will return a number) and if you want it for a date other than today put a prompt at runtime on the effective date.

Thanks - but I think that just shows the number on roll.

I'm trying to get a report which shows the number of children actually present in school. Is there some way of filtering that data?

When you say session do you mean official AM/PM or lesson by lesson?

 

Cos for the AM/PM there's a widget thingy you can put on your homepage which will give you the breakdown.

Use a Focus of Class, data item Class Name and a subreport for Students without a class. That will give you a count of students broken down by class.

 

What I can't figure out is how to filter by Period as it's a confusing set of options (Timetable Cycle Index, Day Index, Day Name, etc).

Bizarrely, the title for this report in my menu seems to be "12." ???

Built-in reports seem to be the way to go, assuming as it seems that you mean a report by form / reg group.

If it’s just for reference I’d use the homepage widget.
