PTFA contract- dealing with Student Photos

Our PTFA are taking on the year book this year. They will be collecting photos from students (who in turn will need to sign a consent form). I would like to come up with some kind of simple contract for the PTFA members to sign to say they will protect the students photos and remove the photos once they have been finished with etc. Anyone have any advice / or something similar?

If the PTFA is independent from the school, and often they are separately registered charities, I'm expecting they are not 'Public authorities' and therefore their GDPR/DPA are not the same as the schools. That's not to say what you're suggesting isn't a good idea, but I can't think the contract would be binding in anyway, in which case, perhaps you just need to make the promise to parents/pupils about how you will process the data. I'd be to please to hear the views of @GrumbleDook on this one.

You do t have to be a public authority to do a task in the public interest... but in this case, consent is going to be the most likely lawful basis as contractual obligations is hard to deal with in this case.

 

The school has a choice of not getting involved or working with the PFTA to be a joint Data Controller perhaps ... something they may need to consider anyway.
