Attaching bulk registration certificates to student linked documents or mail merge

Hi all,

 

Firstly I'm new to the forums so apologies if this is in the wrong place.

 

Historically we provided parents with paper copies of their child's Registration Certificates several times a year. Obviously this was laborious and I am looking at what our options are using the default SIMS facilities (I don't believe we have the SIMS Parent APP but I could be wrong) at them moment).

 

In essence, I am wondering if anyone can help with how we can distribute Registration Certificates electronically. The difficulty is that the web based report PDF is an ideal format for parents to understand, however I can't see how a bulk report can be mail merged or distributed electronically.

 

Likewise, does anyone know of a bulk way of creating the Registration Certificates and then automatically linking them into each student's linked documents?

 

I'm aware that the certificates can be created in XML format, but I have no experience of such stuff as you can probably tell.

Hi Rich,

 

I've just spotted your post.

SIMS Profiles can generate registration certificates as well as attendance. By far the easiest way is to purchase a Parental communication system like the Parent App that Capita makes which can give regular attendance updates to parents in a builtin widget rather than reports which soon become out of date. (you can offset its cost against the money you'd save from not doing paper printing)

 

Profiles will allow you to bulk create registration certificates and atach them to the DMS.
