Afternoon All,

Wondering if you might be able to help please...

We're looking at installing/configuring MBAM on a Windows Server 2016 Std VM but see Microsoft recommend it's done as a 2 server setup, splitting the database and the admin/self-service features

Has anyone got MBAM working successfully on a single server setup at all please? And if so, and using a VM, what spec do you have?

At the moment we're just looking at encrypting 14 x windows 10 Education machines. Though we have another 110 laptops that are currently on Windows 7 Pro (so can't run Bitlocker) that as and when these are upgraded to Windows 10 we'll encrypt with Bitlocker too

So it's starting off fairly small, but even after a bit of googling, can't find anything about how many machines a single server MBAM setup supports? Anyone any ideas please?

Hope you can help - many thanks in advance!

Morning All,

Still no snow in our part of the UK - very disappointing - so we're still in school today!

If anyone else also hasn't got a snow day, just wondered if you had any thoughts on this possible MBAM setup please?

Thanks

The short answer is it's not ever recommended to do a single server setup for security. Will it work on 1 yes, should you if you're talking VMs anyway, no.

But if you're talking VMs then 2 VMs is the same as 2 servers :p Specs should be the same on VMs as if it was normal servers so just follow the recommended really.
