UEFI PXE boot on new PC failing

Hi everyone,

 

I recently took delivery of a new PC for our school. Motherboard is a Gigabyte B250M-D3H, firmware updated to 9b as per Gigabyte's website, CPU is a Core i3-7100, Intel I219-V onboard NIC. My problem: I am unable to PXE boot in UEFI mode to install Windows 10 via MDT. Every attempt at UEFI PXE booting results in a PXE-E16 error.

 

That being said, I have other PC's on the network that UEFI PXE boot just fine, which more or less rules out config problems, DHCP issues etc. PXE booting in Legacy mode works fine. Not too much info out there, but based on this Lenovo thread https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Enterprise-Client-Management/PXE-Boot-error-code-E16-No-Offers-Received/td-p/3600307 it seems it could be related to Kaby Lake and/or the I219V NIC, both of which this PC has.

 

Has anyone been able to properly UEFI PXE boot their Kaby Lake or I219-V NIC based computers? I even tried Intel's BOOTUTIL tool, but it wasn't able to do anything - seems the ROM lives in the UEFI rather than on the network chip. Gigabyte's website doesn't have any later UEFI versions and I don't see any special firmware updates tools that could flash the NIC.

try setting options 60/66 in dhcp ive found 99% of the time they arnt needed but some machines require settings there for $reasons$
