Help with 2 Plc_xe40

I was given a Sanyo PLcXe40. I cleaned it up and I knew of sw902 as I worked with other Sanyo projectors for 6 years. I am a retired Projector engineer spent 12 years working for Sony. I was the trainging engineer for display professional products no TV. I purchased another XE40 to be used as parts but all that was wrong with it a defective lamp and the filters was never cleaned. I replaced the lamp from the other one and it worked but in going thru the menu. The remote stop working but I started to push the buttons and it switch to #2. My question is how can I manually reset these projectors. I know that they would say that you cannot do this or do that but since I have worked for a manufacturer I know there is always away around these projectors.
