DPM 2016 - End User Recovery

I have enabled EUR on DPM 2016 and the run the AD schema extension bit.

 

The new AD container MS-ShareMapConfiguration (CN=MS-ShareMapConfiguration,CN=System,DC=domain,DC=com) is created but is always empty, I feel it should contain pointers to the protected shares on the DPM server and then EUR will work. Users are getting 'no previous versions available'. Otherwise backup is fine.

 

 

why isn't it the AD container populating with any info? ideas? firewall set up as MS recommended and includes 6075 TCP which is apparently required.

MS troubleshooting states:

"verify that the DPM shares are in order. To do this, use the NET SHARE command on the DPM server and verify that every folder or share protected by DPM has a corresponding share on DPM pointing to its replica volume. For each protected share, DPM creates a corresponding share on the DPM server as

 

\\DPM.domain\SERVER.domain_share"

but there is nothing \\DPMserver\.. listed when I run NET SHARE, although the shares are showing in the 'Protection' bit of the DPM console..
