Sheridan Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 We've enabled the SketchUp for Schools app for our G Suite domain as we used to use the old desktop version. However, when anyone tries to open it from the Apps list they see a message saying "SketchUp for Schools is only available for students and teachers in primary and secondary education programs. Please ensure you are using a G Suite for Education account and your account administrator has enabled SketchUp for Schools for your domain" Its enabled and whitelisted for everyone in our domain, so I'm not sure what the issue is? Has anyone actually enabled it successfully for their G Suite domain?

Working fine here.
Sheridan Posted January 22, 2018 Author Posted January 22, 2018 We don't have that enabled - but does it need access to Classroom? I thought it only accessed their Drive? We don't even get as far as the point where it asks if you want to allow access, once you sign in/select your GAFE account it shows the message.

You don't have to use Classroom, just have it enabled (along with the APIs). https://forums.sketchup.com/t/sketchup-for-schools-doesnt-work/53132/13 SketchUp for Schools is dependent on Google Classrooms being enabled, as Classrooms differentiates G Suite for Education accounts from personal or business accounts. Please note that while Google Classroom must be enabled for SketchUp for Schools to operate properly, it does not need to be used as your LMS. I thought it only accessed their Drive? SketchUp files will be saved to Google Drive. 1
