SCCM - The Download Software Updates Wizard completed with errors

Never used SCCM for Windows Updates before so I thought I'd give it a go and on my first attempt to download a software update I get an error!

 

 

Windows Updates on the server itself work OK but I was wondering if SCCM gets the updates from a different URL or something that I need to unblock on our web filter or something or is it something else I'm doing wrong?!

I had issues with the proxy settings my self when downloading updates, i run the management console from my computer but log into it with a user that has permissions. I had to log into that user on my computer first and set the proxy settings for it. if that makes sense?

We dont use a proxy here (yet) so that's not the issue. I logged on to the server with an admin account and did the download from there so you're right that it's a permission thing, just not sure what I need to do to get it to work when I open the console on my PC rather than the server directly.

I use this to open the console as another user - C:\Windows\System32\runas.exe /savecred /user:domain\admin "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Configuration Manager\AdminConsole\bin\Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.exe"

I've deployed a single Microsoft Update KB as a test to a Device Collection with just 2 computers in it.

 

I've set it to be Available so I assume it should be listed in the Software Center under Updates, is that right?

 

I've run all the Actions in the Control Panel Applet a couple of times and waited for around an hour and nothing is showing up on the client computers - am I doing something wrong or just being impatient?
