Datacenter and Standard licenses

Can I mix Datacenter and Standard licenses on the same server?

Yes, as long as you are licensed.

 

Normally you would have Datacenter in the physical machine and then the virtual machines would be standard or datacenter

I have Datacenter licensed for the host but use standard for guest OS even though I can use Datacenter. Reason is if things change I wouldn't have to rebuild the VM's to downgrade the OS version.
