newpersn Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Just been looking at our backups and noticed that some files are in a long name. Whats the best way of over coming this? I keep getting these errors "cannot find the path specified" Access to denied
ZeroHour Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I thought there was a setting you could toggle using GP to allow longer paths now?
newpersn Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 I thought there was a setting you could toggle using GP to allow longer paths now? Got that. and noticed it was using an robocopy V4 (windows 10 robocopy is v10) Just running it now. We use robocopy to copy from file server to NAS nightly and just spotted that.
RJohnson91 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Have you tried RoboMirror? Robocopy with a GUI, there may be a tick box that sorts long file names, makes it easier than command line RoboMirror

May have sorted by using powershell then robocopy. Will check tomorrow and see how it did.
