Students creating Google Groups in GSfE

Those who use GSfE - Is there a way to stop students creating their own Google Groups? We centrally create Groups with Salamander but we are finding that some students have created their own groups.

Do you know if when it says domain admins it means 'super admins' or if 'group admins' would be included in that?

I'm not sure. You can delegate certain admin control by creating a custom roll but I don't remember if groups admin is part of that:

a quick search says you can do this:

 

[h=4]Groups[/h]Grants full control over Google Groups created in your Admin console. Administrators with this privilege can:

• View user profiles and your organizational structure
  
• Create new groups in the Admin console
  
• Manage members of groups created in the console
  
• Manage group access settings
  
• Delete groups from the console

These settings seem to be global. What I'd like to do is allow staff to create groups, but not pupils. Both are in different OU's - is there a way to achieve this?

As far as I can see, you'd have to give the staff delegated admin rights, but just on groups.

They could of course delete each others groups but at least you havea log!
