trinity_teign Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Hi We have a room of 8 Mac's running OS Sierra 10.12.5. They are all domain joined, however I am struggling to restrict their access to Windows server shares, primarily our file server which stores everyone's home drives. If I log onto a Mac with a domain student account and open Finder then click "All..." under Shared, I am presented with a screen showing all computers and servers on the domain. If I click on our fileserver i am able to open up a folder and browse its contents even though this user doesn't have permission on the folder. I am not that familiar with Mac's and this is an inherited setup from a previous network manager. Any help or guidance would be appreciated Many thanks
free780 Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 You could put the Mac's on a separate subnet as only servers/clients in the local subnet will appear. 1
