Hi

Not particularly versed in Sims so assume this should be possible.

I need to change all the staff email contacts to their correct email addresses as we will be using these shortly and currently the only email contact they have are personal emails. Is there any way to either import or view on 1 page rather than going in individually with each member of staff and changing that way?

Thanks in advance

It can (and much more) - and SIMS can store multiple emails per person - you define them as home \ work \ other. So you just want to import them all into SIMS as work emails. If only someone created a free tool for bulk importing into SIMS...

I lost some staff a couple of years ago- salamander replaced them! Almost a no brainer but I guess budgets just don't allow these days

There is a utility in the form of a patch on SOLUS3 that will read in an import file to update/insert/delete email addresses in bulk. Ask your SIMS support for "Import of Email Addresses and TelephoneNumbers from a CSV File" handbook and patches 20343 and 17195 (Previous patches 18029 and 17188 have been replaced with 20343) (those were the current patch numbers when I did it last year)

Cheers All. If only someone had made a bulk uploader! ;)

Managed to find a dodgy app online by someone with a shady name similar to an edugeek member. Hope it doesn't bork my database :)

I'm sure they used the SIMS API so it won't - unless Capita code is crooked. Shame Capita wouldn't let someone else take it over (without stinging them with a large bill)... oh well, guess they are happy with irony - directly importing into SQL with no sql inject protection and bypassing the business layer.
