Hi, I have created my first timetable but struggling to finesse it. I have a linear block including Science, PTE and PE. There are four groups, and I designed the block so there are always 2 PEs on at any time. These two groups then split into girls and boys for PE which is fine, but for registration and reporting, Pe1 in SIMS will be mixed and Pe2 will be mixed. I am looking for a way to specify that these groups merge and then separate into girls and boys.

The cluster scheme exported to SIMS looks like I may be able to manually edit the students, but I am unsure if this could propogate upwards to the block scheme and cause all sorts of nasties in Science and PTE also. This would also need constant maintenance for new students etc.

Any suggestions gratefully accepted!

Thanks

John

Can you post a screenshot of your block? I might have an idea but I'm not sure whether I am picturing your block correctly....

Sorry, I thought you could perhaps do a linked class for it but I don't see how to split that out from there.

What you might need to do is manually adjust those students when you assign them to the curriculum by going down and manually moving the groups around by using the assign students to an inelligable curriculum (Page 34 of the Academic Management handbook) - but it still might not let you do what you want I'm not 100% sure sorry. I think you should be able to do this per student using the Singletons item but again not 100% sure.

If it's tricky I'm happy to leave it as is. I just thought I'd see of there was an easy way of doing this better, so thanks for your efforts. They go to show at least there isn't anything obvious I'm missing just because I'm a newbie.
