Hi Guys,

We are looking to buy some staff Chromebooks and are after something 11" with a flip design that can run Android apps. Any of you using a device you would recommend?

I have looked at the Acer R11 and the ASUS C101 (due to be released).

Preferably want to spend under £300 per device.

Thanks

We have deployed Acer R11's 1:1 - last lot was the most recent model N3060 and 32Gb SSD/4Gb RAM (we got for £215 ext VAT). Avoid the N3050/2Gb models if you can - noticeably slower. Pretty rugged and lasting well. There is a black model (738T - the one we have) and a white consumer model. I have my own R13 which is nice device - runs Android Apps very well and has just updated to 7.1.1. Little under £300 ext VAT.

We've rolled out 160 ASUS Chromebook Flip C100PA devices so far - around £300 each including VAT and management license, if I remember correctly. They seem to be working well so far - we have them in classrooms, in daily use, and children seem to be finding them usable and convenient. We've had a couple suddenly decide to stop accepting touch input, but a reset-to-factory-settings sorts that out, so the issue would seem to be software rather than hardware related.

I saw ASUS' new flip model at BETT in January, the one with the rear-facing camera, which does look like a very good device, although pricing looks to be more around £400 per device. HP and Acer have very similar models due out at around the same time, too.
