CHM-ITServices Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 Hi all, I recently took advantage of the offer that was posted for 150 free licenses. I received my details and have began setting up te software; however, i have come across a strange issue. When using the deploy tool, i add an IP range and click search and it doesn't return any computer names except a few apple devices! even DNS names aren't fully resolved. I have installed the server tool on my domain controller, disabled anti-virus and opened port 137 UDP as per the netsupport, support recommendation. Has anyone else come across this when installing the software? Screenshot:

CHM-ITServices Posted June 13, 2017 Author Posted June 13, 2017 Are the PCs on a different VLAN to the deploy tool? We had a similar problem Same vlan If i try the Windows Networking tab, it returns just servers with statically assigned ips.
CHM-ITServices Posted June 13, 2017 Author Posted June 13, 2017 Well, after a very helpful member of the netsupport team contacted me, it seems that the deploy tool may have a few issues with newer networks. The workaround is to deploy via GPO while we wait for Netsupport to include their latest deploy tool (12) into the notify product. For anyone who comes searching with the similar issue, try downloading the netsupport manager trial and just installing the deploy tool (which is the latest edition) and check to see if it finds your computers and names them. 1
