Folder Redirection (App Data) and Mandatory profile

I have been playing around setting up a new student mandatory profile. I have set it up in the wiki way and have run all the software once to get the settings i want all students to get. The trouble is the profile is now 44mb and i don't want all the kids to have to drag this across the network every time they log on. The main culprit is the application data folder. This is 42mb on its own.

 

So can this be set in GPO to redirect the application data folder for everyone to the same location?

 

Am i correct in thinking that this will not come across the server when they log on if i set this up?

 

Can i do it this way?
