Leehilton90 Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 I know there are a lot of posts about this but I haven't seen one that works for me. So we have an iPad which is used by children and has a passcode on it (I know, bad idea) to access the internet you have to log in via the filter. So I am unable to do anything from the MDM. So the next option was to try restoring it via iTunes, every time I try this is fails. I have tried the usual hold the home and power button, but this then tells you to plug it in. Please help
Leehilton90 Posted May 17, 2017 Author Posted May 17, 2017 Unfortunately we didn't use that. We were not given a mac device to configure them.
GrumbleDook Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 When talking about iTunes I presume you are talking about DFU mode? There are a couple of YouTube vids out there to help you get the timing right to enable it. You then reload the OS via iTunes. Then it is back to an out of the box device and you can re-enrol in your MDM.
tmoon-mint Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Make sure iTunes is completely up to date. Switch the iPad completely off. Connect the USB cable to the PC. Hold down the home button and connect the USB cable while still holding down the home button. Much easier way to get into DFU mode. You then should get a prompt in iTunes to restore the device.
