snagrat Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 We have just installed a Unifi US‑16‑150W switch in a school with some AC-Pro APs. All working well. We want to add an old UAP-Pro access point to an outbuilding and wondered if the switch will PoE it? The AP says that it requires 48v and the switch supports 802.3at but unsure if these are the same? TIA
FN-GM Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 (edited) 802.3at is the standard that provides more power, also known as PoE+ - So you should be ok. I am pretty sure the Pro AP's support PoE+ The lite AP's do not. Edited April 27, 2017 by FN-GM
synaesthesia Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Yes they will be fine. We have a mixture of proper POE and unifi basic stuff running from those.
PotNoodleTech Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 They come as standard with POE+ which is 48v 15watt+ compatible. I.e "proper poe"
