Cumulative Updates?

Did I imagine it or did Microsoft announce that at some point they were changing Windows 7 to have Cumulative update Rollups like 10 etc. receive? I know we have the monthly rollups but still in theory need each one to get a machine that's further behind back up to speed (as I understand it anyway)

 

Getting bored of random machines' WSUS breaking and would make life a lot easier to just pop on the most recent Cumulative update then get going again (the Convenience Rollup only gets to April 2016 and there's been a fair bit of change since then)

In the future, specifically later this year, we will have a follow-up update to KB3125574, which will also be a fully cumulative update, and we will only need to update our image with one or two KBs to be fully patched. The current prerequisite for Windows 7 updates is only SP1, when this will change the media will also be refreshed officially, as it was done for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 to include Update 3 KB3000850 November 2014 Update Rollup.
