LemonEntry Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 (edited) Group Policy Management shows 3 out of 4 DCs (Not FSMO role holder as Authoritative DC) "Replication in progress" for recently edited policies (longer than 24 hours). DFS Management diagnostic reporting shows propagation test data replication status "Arrival pending" and has since test was started 4 days ago. Event log has no extra information. DCDiag shows no issues aside from DFSRevent which are reports that service stops due to backups (at correct time for DC backups). Some policies are several versions out of date, so likely this has been going on for some time. Anyone know how I can further troubleshoot this issue? mrwoberts Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 (edited) What errors/warnings are showing up in the event logs; I'm pretty sure there will be some with this issue. Any events relating to services failing to start? Namely, 'DFSr'. Jet database corruption? LINK EDIT: Event logs on affected server and PDC Edited April 11, 2017 by mrwoberts 1
HPlum78 Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 repadmin /showrepl would be my first call, post the results back. 1
HPlum78 Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 you could also while you are at it do dcdiag /test:replications /s: for each of the DC's in the domain, again post the results. 1
LemonEntry Posted April 11, 2017 Author Posted April 11, 2017 (edited) Event log is clean, with only warnings (resolved automatically) and information. Daily event log sequence Sequence is: 1102 (Stopped for backup) - 1104 (Restarted replication after backup or restore) - 1206 (Successfully contacted DC to access config) - 5014 (Replication stopping with partner DC01, error 9033 (cancelled by shutdown)) - 5004 (successfully established an inbound connection with partner DC01 for replication group). That's all there is for months. repadmin comes back clean: "Last attempt @ 2017-04-11 14:50:28 was successful." for all DCs. dcdiag is clean: Passed test Connectivity, Passed test Replications. All DCs patched and restarted (today's work), no change in status on any of them. They report consistently, though; DC02 (FSMO) and DC04, for example, both report version 5 on computer, version 10 on baseline. Edited April 11, 2017 by LemonEntry clarified event log messages
LemonEntry Posted April 11, 2017 Author Posted April 11, 2017 Ahhh for pity's sake... I didn't check Event Log on any other DC than the FSMO role holder. The errors mrwoberts stated are on the other DCs.
