Photoshop Saving to TMP files

Morning all,

 

I've got an issue with Photoshop CS5 saving files as .tmp rather than .psd - Has anyone seen this before?? Does anyone have a solution???

 

I've tried to recover the work from the tmp file but I've not found a way of doing it that works.

 

Pupils are saving to their home folder on the network.

 

All suggestions greatly received!

This typically happens when the students don't give it enough time to save before closing it down / logging off.

I suspected as much but proving that to a teacher as always remains a challenge!

Prove it to the teacher by reproducing the same logoff events under controlled conditions.
