Virtual Box - Drag and Drop Crashes

Ive enabled drag and drop windows 7 host and guest and it sometimes works but more often than not it will hang 'dropping data'. then cancelling this drop session it doesn't work again until next reboot. I am testing with tiny 10Kb files.

 

Latest VBox installed, there are many posts on net but all about older installs.

 

any ideas? this is key to the project being useful.

Shared folder fixes this, don't even need networking.

We have host only network (not sure if we need it) and drag and drop works for us.

I think I had problems with that, and it was to do with disk space, although you have tiny files so that seems unlikley.

 

I remember it actually copied the file to you temp directory, and from there to the destination you're dragging it to, so a strange perms problem on temp?

 

I ended up using shared folders as you say, that was much more reliable.
