Display Driver Causes Blue Screen

I've got a few laptops here blue screening with the error: video_dxgkrnl_fatal_error

 

They have Intel HD Graphics 3000 onboard cards. I fixed the issue by booting into safe mode (hold shift when clicking restart), logging on as a local user, going to device manager, uninstalling the display adapter and deleting the driver software.

 

I'm assuming it's a dodgy driver update, but I couldn't get it to update the driver in normal Windows, it would just bluescreen.

 

Anyone else had this?
