TheICTTechnician Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Hi All, Having a few issues with start menu on a Windows 10 Pro machine. It has just been networked to our domain and everything works fine on the administrator account but for every other user the start menu will not open up and none of the icons on the task bar can be accessed. Has anyone got a workaround or fix for this? Tried the Microsoft guides but still not fixed. Thank
Liam Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Sounds like a Profile issue. Have you configured a new profile? Try logging in and letting it create a local account. I had his
TheICTTechnician Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 Tried a new profile yes, its literally only the domain admin account where it will work...
Liam Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 I had it. It was the profile for me. My techie targets a .v5 and not v6. All is well now I created a new man profile
alfatec Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Are you using local profiles or Mandatory/Roaming profiles?
alfatec Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Question was for 'the icttechnician' who started the post, I thought you were all sorted Liam?
Liam Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Oh sorry, completely misread that one. Blame Doris !
alfatec Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Roaming for everyone. I would try Mandatory or local for students. A lot less bother.
TheICTTechnician Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 On our curriculum network it is all mandatory but this is our admin network, just for admin staff so they are all roaming profiles
TheICTTechnician Posted February 24, 2017 Author Posted February 24, 2017 (edited) not working on any users/profiles at all now, works on local profile though. Our network is all Windows 7 Edited February 24, 2017 by TheICTTechnician
TheICTTechnician Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 have reimaged the machine, is there anything which can be done so that the start menu will work straight the way once the machine has been added to the domain
