Looking at getting into web hosting,

The area is currently very saturated but can be profitable if you stay with it for a length of time, would first look at getting a vps then eventually getting a dedicated server and migrate the clients over.

Does anyone have any experiences on this and what are others thought?

Thanks :)

I work in the industry currently and I've also run resellers in the past, if your going down this route make sure your as fully clued up as you can be since the amount of times someone starts up a reseller and contacts support for the company I work for asking 'how to I create an account' or 'how do i install wordpress' is crazy.

VPS wise, I recommend looking into cloudlinux for the OS as it offers very nice security measures and then cPanel is recommended as well since most users are familiar with that. License costs can add up quickly but some things you just need to make sure you can offer an epic service. Also something like MagicSpam is useful for spam protection in cPanel.

You may also find that a reseller is more suitable short term and then a VPS / Dedi is better later on but it depends on your budget. Feel free to PM me :)
