clareq Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 We have had a strange issue just raise it's head. Students are unable to open an existing illustrator file if it is in their userarea, but can open the same file from a USB stick. However, when they do so, a number of additional files are created in the same folder: Attempting to open a new canvas, or opening a file from a network drive gives: I have tried deleting the preferences folder from the roaming appdata (Appdata\Adobe\Adobe illustrator CS5 Settings); deleting the local profile and stopping Appdata from being redirected, but none of these work. Strangely, it's only affecting users in one year group, though permissions and GPO's don't alter between years. Help!!
Steve21 Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Which yeargroup is it? If it's the newest one did you make any permission changes recently? If you delete one of the users that is working their preferences files do they still recreate? Just wondering if it's "all broke" and it just happens the older years already have the files created etc Steve
clareq Posted December 8, 2016 Author Posted December 8, 2016 It's Y12. No recent permission changes. The preferences folder doesn't recreate, the files that appear on the pen drive are in the preferences folder normally, so there is obviously an issue with them creating or accessing that area, but they can happily recreate the rest of their appdata folder, so the permissions must be right??
