sloughman Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Hello I am in the process of setting up spiceworks help desk. I have installed the software and am now trying to log in, there is a message saying unable to connect to spiceworks, this is at the stage of logging in with username and password. It brings up a dialogue box with my proxy settings already configured. I press the test button, and it brings up a green 'passed' message, I save the details and try and log in again , simply to return to the dialogue box. Any ideas. Thanks.
simpsonj Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Try changing the port that Spiceworks runs from (Right click system tray icon, and enter a new port number for http and https access, for instance, mine are running on 9675 for http and 9674 for https), then enter the new address with port number, for example, mine is http://spiceworks:9675/ and try logging in.
Dylanduffyghs Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Hey Spice works needs unfiltered access to call home essentially - give it a static IP then allow it full access through your web filter. Let me know if you want some help with it Dylan
