danIT Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 I have just negotiated a private sale for an Asus eeePC - BINGO! Cut out the middle man (Ebay) and gone direct to the source, local chap who even knocked the price down a little cash! lol Can wait picking it up tomorrow, 4 Gb in Black with 2Gb Ram! Beautiful! Ill be modding and hacking all weekend!
Joanne Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 got mine this week.... £189 for white 4GB with 512 RAM. Tried ubuntu on it yesterday and reverted it to the original linux... couldn't be bothered with all that code in terminal!! Guy at work keeps waving his XP "lite" infront of my face... silly man!
danIT Posted February 15, 2008 Author Posted February 15, 2008 I wont be putting XP, or an XP Lite build not interested in corrupting the sleek design with XP. I've already had a play for a couple of weeks with a 2gb version and was perfectly happy with the linux distro it has installed as default. For me there are no benefits in changing the OS. £200 was my price, i could do with slightly small fingers hahha
Joanne Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 yeah i struggle with typing! I don't press the keys hard enough. Scared of breaking it. It can be my cooking buddy... finding me recipies to follow in the kitchen! yay!
StewartKnight Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 I have 2 eeepc's. One with XP and one with the standard Xandros distro on I do like the tabbed interface on the eeepc, but to do stuff at school, you do need to put XP on it, or at the very least hack the eeepc so that you can get to the proper OS behind the tabs
