Locked out of OS X

Hi there

Got a bit of a weird problem on Friday afternoon ( of all times ).

On our mac mini server I've been locked out of the local admin account.

Fortunately I created another local admin account ....so can log in with that.

I tried changing the password of the first account in Open Directory manager ....but when I try to unlock the local admin account it doesn't work. What figures !

I can see User and Groups in the System Preferences nd see the original Local Admin account here but I can't click on it to select it- it's like it's greyed out.....is that because the Local Admin account is logged in and I can't unlock it with the password?

 

What could have happened.........it's odd.

I could reboot the mac mini but I don't really want to at the moment as I have some kind of access to it!

Any help greatly appreciated ( on a hot Friday afternoon!)
