timthetech Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I am looking for a way to push out Homepage settings for Firefox, Chrome and Safari with a profile to student iMac computers. In past, changed default profile but that is not working properly now with El Capitan and from what I read not the correct way to do it. Thanks for any help and guidance.
SamanthaD Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 I spent too much of my life trying to solve this - the only workaround I could achieve was creating a link, adding a custom icon to it and adding that file to the Dock so instead of opening the homepage it opened the link address. (I used the school logo as the icon but you could, in theory, use the Chrome icon then remove the actual Chrome shortcut from the Dock.) Doesn't work for multiple browsers though, and obviously pressing home defeats it, but for 98% of users it worked fine. 1
