Opening e-mail attachments

When anyone on Windows 10 attempts to open an e-mail attachment or a downloaded file, particularly Office documents they are unable to do so. They need to save the document, go to properties and unblock it. Is there a way of forcing this by GPO?

File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Protected View, and then uncheck Enabled Protected View for files originating from the Internet (or outlook attachements or w/e it's called nowadays)

 

Is normally the one Might be worth a check (Got the deployed via GPO for us, but might want to test it first)

 

Edit - Just a quick one actually, is this via Edge or Outlook?

it's Outlook, and that does work for an individual user, but I'd like to deploy it by GPO if possible - how do you do that?

Obviously mine has a few other bits in but should help hopefully (Need the Office ADMX imported but assume you have that if not need to add it in)

 

 

Edit - Just as a note that one above is for a few other bits but can just use the "open from outlook" part if that's all you want, don't need the internet/unsafe/intranet parts

you should be able to download office adm/admx files for office 20xx and deploy those settings via gpo to users
