[sims] Amending Gradesets - Help!

Hi,

 

I am trying to amend one of our BTEC gradesets, but when I try to do so, I get an error saying that the change cannot be effected as there are previous results already recorded for that gradeset. That is to say, I am simply trying to change a D* (Distinction Star) to Di*, and a D (Distinction) to Di.

 

is there any way I can amend the gradeset so that all previous results can be updated with this amendment?

No is the short answer. If you did the gradeset would not recognise D* entries as these are stored against the students record and they would become orphaned.

 

Either create a new gradeset/aspect or add a new start date to the existing gradeset and include Di* etc and then using a Marksheet/Excel export process, change the grades required and then import them back into the system.

 

Then using the AM tools option, delete all the D* & D grades from the aspect.
