Ianellis Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Hi, I am getting a windows 10 image ready to deploy over the summer. I create the image, sysprep and upload to the WDS server ok. But when it downloads to a new computer it says there is an issue with the unattend file. Older windows 8 images work fine. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ian.
MarkTye Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Hi Ian, Press shift and F10 when the error message pops up. Type Regedit Go to HKEY_Local_Machine/SYSTEM/Setup/Status/ChildCompletion If the setup.exe is set to 1, change it to 3 and then reboot the machine. Thanks, Mark.
Ianellis Posted June 21, 2016 Author Posted June 21, 2016 Hi, Since posting I have tried to add the boot.wim file from the windows 10 disk to the WDS boot files and deploy using that - it worked!
MarkTye Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 I've still not managed to install Windows 10 via WDS. Installs fine after you do the above fix I sent (which only happens on some PCs), but after it does that, it boots up to the "Hi" and selecting time and date and region, go though the settings and then the next screen is the custom or express settings. Once that's been selected it will say restarting in a moment, restarts a couple of times and then goes back to the selecting time and date and region settings. Not got any further than that, but the settings are the new time and date settings that I've selected, so the date is now set to UK not US, which is strange.
