snagrat Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Hi. I have setup Profile Manager with DEP and the devices are assigned. When I turn on an iPad it detects DEP and goes through the process but sits on "Awaiting final configuration from " and then does nothing. Anyone got any ideas?
Brimstone Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Have you created the cert in profile manager and uploaded it to your DEP account, you also need to download the cert and add this to profile manager? Have you requested DEP enrolment from your reseller, only they can do this for you?
snagrat Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 DEP has been done by reseller so I have the placeholders in PM. I've enabled DEP, uploaded the cert and then downloaded the one created and imported it.
Brimstone Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 If you have a proxy in place as part of the pre- enrolment profile then this could cause the failure as its blocking Apple?
snagrat Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 No proxy. I am attempting this from outside of the school but the address configured is external so assumed it would work?
Jamman960 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 @snagrat did you get anywhere with this at all? while testing our new MDM I'm getting the exact same issue. the MDM support are saying its due to Apple notifications not getting back but have tested this internally and externally. James
snagrat Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 Worked when iPad was on the same network as the Mac but not when remote.
markd3 Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Did anyone ever figure out why it didn't work when the iPad was not the same network.
snagrat Posted June 22, 2016 Author Posted June 22, 2016 Nope. I only assume it was firewall related but never looked into it 1
markd3 Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Thanks, I figured as much. Internally, its not an issue but outside the network, no go. I'll check the ports.
snagrat Posted June 22, 2016 Author Posted June 22, 2016 Mine work fine after enrolment off the network ie for pushing apps etc It was just that enrolment bit
markd3 Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Thanks again, I had exactly the same situation. Turns out I had to port forward 1640 (Cert enrollment server).
snagrat Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 Port forward from external to the Profile Manager server?
