vWorskpace discontinued

Morning all,

 

Following the announcement last month that Dell is discontinuing their vWorkspace product and putting it in maintenance only, no sales, and us being in the early stages of talks about licencing it, we have now found ourselves at a quandary.

 

(If you didn't know this news, expect a visit from a nice Dell person to explain the situation )

 

vWorkspace put us around or on budget for circa 300 users on matched hardware.

 

Citrix blows the budget out of the water, puts the remains in a rocket, crash lands it on the moon, etc

 

Is there any preferential educational licensing around for any of the main brokers? Has anyone made work Citrix for a better price, we just can't afford to drop 6 figures on a system

 

We may use RDSH for students, as they need a desktop, office and internet and go full external broker on staff. My blinkered path now has a stupendous amount of options.
